Little Pieces of Imagination

The Marriage Bargain - Jennifer Probst I read it within a few hours and thought it was great. I laughed out loud many times, shared some tears and rooted for Alexa and Nick. It's short too, fun for an evening spent in bed reading.

It was somewhat a cliché - Nick's a guy with a troubled past and Alexa, a good-hearted girl with a sarcastic sense of humour and a self-willed nature, is the girl of his dreams (which he isn't aware of yet, of course). The thing is that she's in desperate need of cash in order to save her childhood home and he needs to marry someone soon, otherwise he will not inherite a company his uncle left him in his will and which has been a dream of his for a long, long time. So.. They make a contract: a one year marriage with no strings attached, no sex, no love, no nothing - just pure business. How do you think that'll work? Yeah.. They fall for each other, but neither is ready to admit it.

What's good about this book is that it was short, but it really was enjoyable: I laughed out loud for minutes when Nick found out what his wife had brought home and hidden from him in the back room. I shed a few tears when things got rough and I liked their sarcastic comments about each other.

It wasn'ta perfect or an original story, but it was pretty well done. Oh, and I liked Alexandria due to her strong will /this girl had some backbone, I tell ya) and kindness. She's a great example for young women. She doesn't really care what other people think of her, she's fun, kind, protects her lovedones 'til death and helps everyone who cannot help themselves.

I recommend this book if you want to read something light before sleep or in beach while sunbathing etc. Or any other time you want something fun and romantic. It was good.
